Terms and Conditions
Summary
These Terms & Conditions apply to any tours booked with Active Wonders Safaris Limited a local owned adventure travel company based in Arusha, Tanzania. These Terms & Conditions govern the contractual relationship between Active Wonders Safaris and yourself. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully as by booking any tour with Active Wonders Safaris you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. You shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms & Conditions on behalf of all clients named in the booking and therefore all clients in that group indicate their acceptance and agreement to these Terms & Conditions. The client who confirmed the booking is considered to be the selected contact person for all other clients named in that booking.
Quotes + Costs
Quotations are based on anticipated costs and are subject to amendment should these anticipated costs increase/decrease due to circumstances beyond the control of Active Wonders Safaris.
Quoted prices are typically per person sharing, double occupancy except where indicated. Prices include planning, handling, and operational charges and are based on current rates of exchange, tariffs and taxes in effect at the time of publication. Active Wonders Safaris reserves the right to increase prices to cover increased costs, tariffs, taxes, and V.A.T. received after prices are published and to reflect fluctuations in foreign exchange markets. Active Wonders Safaris is under no obligation to give a breakdown in the costs of any journey. Modification of group experiences to accommodate a smaller group size will not affect the published program price.
Deposits & Final Payment
Upon booking a tour with Active Wonders Safaris, a 30% deposit is required to secure the tour and begin the necessary booking processes and ground preparations. Payment instructions will be communicated via email. Final balance payment of the tour booked is required no later than 6 weeks before the tour starts. Bookings made within 6 weeks of the tour start date should be paid in full. All payments made to Active Wonders Safaris should be free of bank charges and credit card transaction surcharges.
Our Cancellation Policy Is as Follows
Cancellation 61 days prior to the start date, refund of 75% of deposit paid
Cancellation 30 to 60 days prior to start date, refund of 50% of deposit paid.
Cancellation below 30 days prior to the start date, no refund.
If you transfer to another date, your payment will be applied toward your new itinerary and you will be charged an additional $150 per person change fee.

Included Services
The following is intended to be indicative only. Active Wonders Safaris accepts no liability for any mistakes or errors in the calculation of the advertised price which is based on the anticipated costs of the particular experience. Active Wonders Safaris sample itinerary on the website will typically include the following services in the advertised price, Unlimited Kilometers on game drives Accommodations as noted in the basic itinerary; all meals as specified; arrival and departure transfers; Meet & Greet on international arrival; sightseeing, park and entrance and conservation fees; local bottled water during sightseeing; local taxes.
Excluded Services
International and internal airfares unless otherwise specified in the basic itinerary; costs associated with obtaining passports or entry visas; airport departure taxes, unless otherwise specified; excess baggage charges; tips and gratuities; meals other than as specified in the basic itinerary; beverages other than noted in your final confirmed itinerary; sightseeing not included in the final confirmed itinerary; and personal expenses such as laundry, communication charges unless otherwise specified in your final confirmed itinerary; and optional activities (which are subject to availability).
Inoculation, Immunization and Medication
African countries have varying inoculation, immunization and medication requirements and it is essential that you familiarize yourself with these and take the necessary action timeously as travel will not be permitted unless you meet these requirements which are your full responsibility. It is furthermore your responsibility to be familiar with all diseases, both real and potential, when travelling to and through Africa and to take the necessary precautions and vaccinations.
It is also your responsibility to ensure that you are medically fit and healthy for travel and in some cases, you may be required on request to provide a medical statement from a medical practioner to confirm that you are fit and healthy to travel.
Illness Or Disability
If you are suffering from any illness or disability, or are undergoing any medical treatment, you must declare this openly and honestly to Active Wonders Safaris at the time of booking your trip.
In a similar manner, if you are affected by any condition that may affect you or others during your trip in any way, you must comprehensively advise Active Wonders Safaris at the time of your booking.
It is your responsibility to make arrangements for the provision of any medication or treatment while you are away
Failing to declare any conditions, illnesses, disability or the like, will constitute a breach of these terms and conditions and can result in you being excluded from your booked trip or excursion without refund of any payment.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend you take out your own suitable travel insurance to cover medical expenses, personal accidents, and loss or damage to personal property or luggage.
Unforeseen Circumstances
Active Wonders Safaris is affected by force majeure, which means any circumstances beyond the control of the company (including and without limitation, explosions, floods, tempests, fires, accidents, war or threat of war, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance or requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions or other outwards occurrences, we shall inform you immediately of the nature and extent thereof. The company is not allowed to violate or abuse these conditions.
Special Requests
Special requests such as adjacent or connecting rooms, bedding requests, smoking rooms, and special dietary needs should be advised at the time of booking. Please note that while every effort will be made to secure a special request, it cannot be guaranteed in advance of travel.
Active Elements
Some active elements have been incorporated into select experiences. To enjoy those experiences as intended, a minimum level of fitness is required. Active Wonders Safaris will require notice if any participant has any physical or other condition or disability that could create a hazard to him or herself or to other members of the group. Active Wonders Safaris reserve the right to decline acceptance of anyone whom it considers unsuitable due to fitness level. Should you have any questions or need any clarification about a specific program, please ask your Adventurist for details at the time of booking.
Passport + Visa
It is upon the guest to ensure that passports and visas are valid for the countries visited. Most nationalities can get a tourist visa on arrival in Tanzania at the border/airport ($50 per person, US Citizens $100 per person). This tourist visa is valid for a period of three months. You can also get your visa in advance at the embassy in your home country. Check the visa rules before you go. Passports should have at least six months of validity after the final day of travel. Active Wonders Safaris cannot be held liable for any visas, etc. not held by the guests, nor the cost of visas.
Amendments
All suggested safari itineraries are subject to availability and not guaranteed until confirmed. In case the proposed accommodation is fully booked we will offer you a suitable alternative in the same price range or higher (a surcharge may be applicable). In the unlikely event that the alternative available travel services are not acceptable to you, we will provide a full refund. Especially in the peak season (July August and mid-end December) we strongly recommend booking well in advance to avoid possible disappointment.
Active Wonders Safaris reserves the right to amend and re-adjust the itinerary, transportation, accommodation, and services indicated in the safari program in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Any changes will be communicated as early as possible.
Transportation
Every effort is made to ensure that the safari vehicles are provided in a roadworthy condition but no liability can be accepted for a puncture, breakdown, damage, or delay as a result of the poor road conditions. We only allow the guides to drive the company vehicles whose decision on all matters, such as the route taken, is final.

Wildlife
It is a privilege to see animals in their natural habitat and as such, we cannot guarantee wildlife or game viewing. You must take caution when viewing the animals, keep a minimum distance, and carefully follow the instructions given by either the tour guide or wildlife rangers.
Updating of these Terms & Conditions
We reserve the right to change, modify, add to or remove from portions or the whole of these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes to these Terms and Conditions will become effective upon such changes being posted to this Website.
