Serengeti Calving Season Safari

Serengeti Calving Season safari will enable you to see amazing scene from the last great concentration of large, wildland animals in the world, and the surrounding landscape which is a beautiful one: short-grassy savannah studded with rocky outcrops – koppies, the favourite haunt of the Serengeti’s leopards.

what to see during Serengeti Calving Season Safari

Serengeti Calving Season safari  will reveal the reason nearly two million wildebeest brave the potential dangers of the annual migration. Between the months of January and mid-March the Serengeti comes to life as over a million wildebeest migrate from the North of Serengeti to the Southern part of the park to calve for almost 8000 new calf each day. The calcium-rich grass shoots from the green season attract pregnant wildebeest in search of sustenance for their soon-to-be newborns.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

Facing the always magnificent sunsets to the west, and located at the highest point on Ngorongoro crater’s entire rim, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge stands well over half a kilometre above the crater floor and offers unparalleled views across this enormous caldera.

Themed around traditionally circular African houses with conical roofs, and decorated with examples of Africa’s rich tapestry of artistic traditions by way of rich woodcarvings and sculptures, the lodge harmonizes perfectly with its dramatic surroundings.
But the drama does not just stop with the great outdoors: it also flows through the split level interiors of the main building which all offer an unsurpassed generosity of space while somehow managing to combine an almost magically welcoming ambience of both warmth and cosines.
